POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING AFTER A bomb threat caused the evacuation of four buildings at Glasgow Caledonian University.
Students and staff were cleared from campus after a note was found in a cafeteria, allegedly warning that a bomb was hidden in the building. Police and fire services were in attendance but no arrests have been made in relation to the incident, which took place on February 19th.
Finance student Adam Lewis described the confusion at the scene.
He said: “About half twelve most of the uni was evacuated when the fire alarm went off, including the whole of the George Moore, Hamish Wood and Saltire Centre buildings. Most of the place was cordoned off.”

Student Lindsey Cameron was also on campus at the time of the incident.
She said: “We came out of uni and there were about four police cars and three fire engines. Apparently someone had left a threatening note on a napkin in the canteen.”
Strathclyde Police have confirmed that the emergency services were called to the scene after a note was found in the Hamish Wood Building, and that a full search was made following the evacuation of the area. No explosive device was discovered.
A spokesman for Glasgow Caledonian University praised campus security and the police and fire services for dealing with the situation in less than half an hour. Nobody was injured.
