Glasgow students Shona Mackintosh and Amy Crain have scooped 1st and 2nd in the British Student category of the London Marathon, writes George Binning.
Mackintosh completed her marathon in 2 hours 47 minutes and 38 seconds, smashing her winning time from last year of 2 hours 54 minutes.

Overall she was 21st in the woman’s race and was the 8th Brit to cross the line.
Mackintosh was delighted to have taken first place.
She told Guardian: “You don’t realise who has won right away, it was not until I checked the results that I found out, it felt pretty good.”
Their victory will cement the reputation of Glasgow’s Hares and Hounds Association as leaders in British university long-distance running.
